Rohr Unveils The Reason Behind Super Eagles Draw In Yaounde.
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has said his group was experiencing exhaustion, in their 1-1 draw against Cameroon Yaounde on Monday.
Nigeria led the pack in the main half through Simon Moses, before the hosts evened out through a Vincent Abubakar penalty with 15 minutes left.
Rohr, who saw his group pound Cameroon 4-0 on Friday, applauded the Indomitable Lions for raising their amusement.
“It was a do or die match, yet I expected that from a group that lost 4-0 days earlier,” Rohr said amid his post-match press question and answer session at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo.
“They needed requital and they played well. They acquired three crisp players, while we had a similar group that played on Friday.
We got drained in the second half.”
He included: “Before the two matches I needed fourpoints, so I’m happy we got what we focused on.
Today’s match was not about exhibition, we simply needed to get an outcome.
“In the match if they didn’t have that penalty we’d have gotten three points.”
