Oprah Winfrey reveals her love for Swansea City Football Club
Oprah Winfrey has revealed she’d be up for joining her A Wrinkle in Time co-star Mindy Kaling in investing in Swansea Football Club.
Speaking during an interview on chat show Lorraine, Kaling was asked about her unexpected investment in the club.
She told host Lorraine Kelly: “Football is such an amazing sport, it’s so incredibly popular worldwide.
At which point Winfrey chimed in to back Kaling’s investment, revealing she’d consider doing so herself.
“We just found this out yesterday but I do believe in that too. I do believe in making investments in what you believe so that your energy goes into the same thing that your money is going into. And that just gives it more power.”
Kelly replied: “So we’re all Swansea Football club supporters here, including Oprah Winfrey.”
The pair were appearing on the show alongside fellow A Wrinkle in Time cast member Reese Witherspoon.
As well as a discussion of the Me Too and Time’s Up movements sweeping Hollywood, Oprah addressed rumours of a 2020 presidential bid.
“It’s a definite no. I recognise that I have a voice in the world and I feel very honoured. It doesn’t feel like politics is the way I want to exercise that voice,” she said.
