INEC Announces Ekiti Election Result: Gubernatorial 2018
After monitoring Ekiti Election Result from the Situation Room at the HQ since 9am, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu addresses monitors and draws the curtains for the day .
Dear Readers, the journey which started on Saturday morning has entered a new phase.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state.
Over 30 political parties contested the election but the strongest are candidates of the All progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Kayode Fayemi, a former governor, is the APC candidate while Kolapo Olusola, incumbent deputy governor of Ekiti, is the PDP candidate.
The result showed that Fayemi, who was governor of the state between 2010 and 2014, has won no fewer than 13 of the 16 councils, including the council of incumbent Ayodele Fayose of the APC.
