DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PULLED ME OFF THE STAGE OF ACTING FOR 10YEARS… ACTRESS AYO ADESANYA
Nollywood actress, Ayo Adesanya has said domestics issues were in charge of her exit off the spotlight for a long time.
Talking on Rubbin’ mind on Channel’s TV the on-screen character clarified that she encountered abusive behavior at home amid her relationship and that had an influence in her choice to take a break.
“I started with the English movies but at a point, I wasn’t as active as I used to be. I was out of the scene for 10 years slightly due to domestic stuff. When I mean domestic, I was in a kind of relationship, though I was never married to him, we were living together. I experienced a little bit of domestic violence but I am over it now.
“I experienced that and I left. I can really discuss it now in light of the fact that, at first, when it happened I was a tiny bit embarrassed at that point.”
Adesanya who has featured in both Yoruba and English movies says she earns progressively when she takes up a role in English films.
“I have been in the movie industry for 22 years, I do both Yoruba and English movies yet I make more in English films; they do pay increasingly and there is a greater group of onlookers. In spite of the fact that I adore both and they give me diverse sort of vibes.”
For her most recent tasks, she veered into creation.
“I am on ‘skinny Girl’, I have done a significant number of films with a few makers which would be in the silver screens. I was also starred in “Omugwo” with Kunle Afolyan. I really did two movies, I delivered them and they will be on the internet soon.
“I am setting up some different tasks, I am endeavoring to do a television program and a significant number of movies as well.”
The actress now takes her spiritual life seriously and has become very picky with the roles she plays as a result of her faith.
